13 SC high school players suspended over hazing
CLOVER, S.C. (AP) — Thirteen football players at a South Carolina high school have been suspended from the field and the classroom as officials investigate alleged hazing.
The Herald of Rock Hill reported Saturday (http://bit.ly/nt6t34) that officials at Clover High School and the York County Sheriff’s office are investigating the allegations. No one has been arrested.
Clover High principal Mark Hopkins says officials heard reports of three separate hazing incidents involving older players bullying younger players. Hopkins declined to name the students or give details about what type of hazing occurred.
Hopkins says the incidents happened over the last two weeks in a locker room after school as football players prepared for practice.
Clover High School lost to South Carolina’s No. 1 Class AAAA team Friday as undefeated Gaffney High won 55-3.
