SC park ranger updates fall colors on the Internet
PICKENS, S.C. (AP) — A South Carolina State Park ranger is updating the progress of fall’s colors on the Internet.
Scott Stegenga at Table Rock State Park is posting his thoughts on the changing color of the leaves in the northern part of the state on the website for South Carolina State Parks.
Stegenga says sourwoods and dogwoods are starting to show color as the days gets shorter and the nights get chillier. He says it takes longer for all the leaves to change and fall in the South, so it will take a while for other kinds of trees to catch up.
