SC DOT: Major traffic shift on I-385 slated

GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — The South Carolina Department of Transportation is making a major shift in traffic as part of the improvements to Interstate 385 near Greenville.
The agency says that between Oct. 13 and Oct. 22, a portion of I-385 will shift southbound traffic to the northbound side between mile markers 35 and 30.
The agency says the shift will be made at night. The change will remain in place through the spring of 2012.
The agency says there will be two lanes of traffic in both directions over the entire length of the new route.
The construction will be marked with traffic cones and signs. Drivers are asked to be aware of equipment and crews working in the area.
