Officer Involved Shooting Makes 5th in 2015

(WOLO) BISHOPVILLE, S.C., — Authorities say a Bishopville police officer shot at a check forgery suspect who hit the officer with his car. The State Law Enforcement Division said it is investigating the shooting by Police Cpl. Michael Hall, who was hired by Bishopville about a year ago and has 20 years of experience in law enforcement. Investigators say Hall was at a bank checking on a report of someone forging a check when the suspect ran to his car, hitting Hall as he drove away. Hall fired back, but it doesn’t appear the suspect was hit. He was arrested a short time later. Authorities say Hall also wasn’t seriously injured. SLED says it is the fifth officer-involved shooting in South Carolina in 2015. (Source: Associated Press)
