Moonshine Bust

ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) _ Orangeburg County deputies say they have arrested three men who operated an illegal still, cranking out up to 100 gallons of moonshine a week. Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said his officers had the still under surveillance for a while and were finally able to catch the men stirring the pot on Tuesday. Investigators seized 10 gallons of moonshine, seven empty 55-gallon barrels, corn and more than 650 pounds of sugar. Deputies say Wesley Gavin, Michael Collier, and Eddie Gavin are all charged with manufacture of untaxed liquor. It wasn’t clear if any of them had attorneys.
