Plans for new Murrells Inlet walk unveiled
MURRELLS INLET, S.C. (AP) — Plans have been unveiled to create a walkway more than a mile long on the marsh behind restaurants and shops on the south end of Murrell’s Inlet.
The Sun News of Myrtle Beach reports the (bit.ly/mOZLSf) walkway will be similar to one on the other end of the inlet that is a popular tourist attraction.
The new walkway in the community south of Myrtle Beach will be 6,300 feet long with about a third of that a wooden pier, the rest paved with oyster shells.
Money for the walk will come from fees for permits to sell alcohol on Sunday in Murrell’s Inlet. The walkway is expected to cost about $175,000.
