Crooks steal from Myrtle Beach couple on honeymoon

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) — A Myrtle Beach couple says thieves stole some of their wedding gifts and jewelry while they were on their honeymoon.

Marco Morales told WMBF-TV (http://bit.ly/qw6IHk ) that he and his wife discovered the break-in when they returned from their vacation to the Caribbean on Monday.

Morales says he felt even worse because the thieves took his wedding band, which he accidentally left on a dresser before they left.

Morales thinks the burglars knew they would be gone by seeing their wedding announcement online or in the newspaper.

Myrtle Beach police say they don’t know if that was the case, but they have seen crooks check wedding or funeral notices to figure out when people won’t be home.
