One Dead in Wreck Involving Car-Bus at Georgia State Line
(AP) _ One person has died and three others were hurt in a wreck involving three cars and a bus on a bridge at the South Carolina-Georgia state line. Jasper County Coroner Martin Sauls says the name of the victim in Monday afternoon’s wreck has not been released while relatives are notified. Trooper Sonny Collins said the person who was killed was driving a car that had tried to pass two other vehicles on U.S. 17 and hit them before swerving into the path of the bus. Sauls said the bus was carrying 56 people to St. Patrick’s Day festivities in Savannah, Georgia. Three people in the other cars were taken to hospitals for treatment. Collins said the wreck closed the road for about four hours.
