29-year Michelin veteran becomes new chairman

GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — Michelin North America has a new leader.

The company announced that Pete Selleck took over Monday as chairman and president. He succeeds Richard Wilkerson, who retired.

the 29-year veteran of Michelin is responsible for coordinating all Michelin activities in Canada, Mexico and the United States.. The 56-year-old Selleck returns to Greenville from the company’s global headquarters in France, where he’s led the global truck tires division since January 2006.

His previous positions include vice president of Michelin Tire Manufacturing in the United States and Canada.

Selleck earned a civil engineering degree from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and a master’s degree in business administration from Clemson University.

Michelin North America is headquartered in Greenville and operates 18 major plants.
