SC State Blows 4th Quarter Lead, Loses 27-24

(AP) — Lavante Page scored a pair of 3-yard touchdown runs in the fourth quarter, including the game-winner with 2:31 left to play to lead Florida A&M in a 27-24 win over South Carolina State on Saturday. The Rattlers (5-3, 3-2 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) then stopped the Bulldogs for a four-and-out and Page, who finished with 27 rushing yards, carried the ball three more times as FAMU ran out the clock on the game’s final possession. The Bulldogs (4-4, 3-2) led 24-13 after three quarters, but FAMU completed the comeback by possessing the ball for 12:23 in the fourth quarter. Damien Fleming led the Rattlers through the air, completing 34 of 40 for 297 yards and a touchdown. FAMU outgained South Carolina State 439-299 on offense and was 10 of 18 on third-down conversions. The Bulldogs were just 2 of 10 on third down.
