Duo Wanted in Murder Case Discovered in North Carolina

(WOLO) SPARTANBURG, S.C., — Spartanburg County officials say two men suspected in the fatal shooting of a 40-year-old man have been arrested in North Carolina. Lt. Kevin Bobo of the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office says 24-year-old Jason Cash of Inman and 29-year-old Steven Lewis of Greensboro, North Carolina, were arrested Saturday. Both are charged with murder and attempted murder. The coroner’s office says Carey Mauldin was pronounced dead in his home near Chesnee about 7:45 a.m. Friday. An autopsy showed he died from shots in the abdomen. The office declined to detail how many bullets hit Mauldin. Bobo confirmed that Mauldin’s girlfriend was also shot. Neighbors tell local media outlets the girlfriend’s wrists were bound and she was bleeding badly when she ran to their home for help. (Source: Associated Press)
