Pickens man found dead at lake boat ramp
SENECA, S.C. (AP) — Sheriff’s deputies in Oconee and Pickens counties are investigating the death of a 19-year-old Pickens man whose body was found at a Lake Hartwell boat ramp.
Officers say while they were interviewing the victim’s girlfriend, another woman in the home shot and killed herself.
Tylor Garren Stewart’s body was found in a parking area of a boat ramp shortly before midnight Sunday.
When deputies went to Stewart’s girlfriend’s house in Pickens on Monday, officers say 42-year-old Laura Gray went to the bathroom and shot herself. She died a short time later at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Investigators have not said how or whether Gray and Stewart knew each other.
Oconee County Chief Deputy Terry Wilson says the girlfriend was being questioned just to get information about Stewart.
