SC police arrest man suspected in NC kidnapping
LONGS, S.C. (AP) — Authorities say a man suspected of kidnapping a woman at gunpoint in North Carolina has been arrested after a brief standoff at an Horry County home.
Police said 39-year-old Prentis Reaves surrendered peacefully Wednesday afternoon and the woman he kidnapped was released unharmed.
Investigators say Reaves took the woman from a Columbus County, N.C., home on Tuesday at gunpoint.
Reaves was taken into custody on a previous warrant for criminal domestic violence in Horry County. Authorities say other charges are pending. It wasn’t clear if he had an attorney.
