Human remains found wrapped in plastic under couch

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) — Authorities say human remains found wrapped in plastic under a couch near Spartanburg likely have been in the same place for several years.

Spartanburg County deputies said a man looking for scrap metal found the body Wednesday in woods near Startex.

The coroner’s office has been called to collect the remains and try to identify the body to determine how the person died

Deputies say they don’t have any missing persons reports from the area in recent years.
