Witches brew, swamp creatures at SC plantation
CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Witches brew and swamp creatures are the highlights of a Halloween celebration at a plantation on the South Carolina coast.
On Friday and Saturday nights, Magnolia Plantation and Gardens outside of Charleston is offering nighttime tram rides along moss-shrouded trails, a bonfire with roasted marshmallows and popcorn and the plantation’s so-called witches brew, otherwise known as green Kool-Aid.
There’s also a hay mound that the kids can climb in and, if a bunch of kids running around isn’t scary enough, visitors can watch the movie “Swamp Thing” on an outdoor screen.
“Swamp Thing” is the 1982 cult horror classic that was filmed in the nearby South Carolina swamps.
