Man charged with two counts of attempted murder in Eastover

EASTOVER, S.C. (WOLO) — Richland County Sheriff’s deputies say they’ve charged 27-year-old Forrest Taylor with two counts of attempted murder. The office says deputies attempted to pull Taylor over in Eastover early Saturday morning. He was driving a black Dodge Avenger with no headlights. As deputies turned onto Henry Street behind the vehicle, the vehicle stopped, and the driver hung out the window, and fired multiple shots from a handgun in the direction of deputies. The vehicle then drove away. Deputies pursued and conducted a Felony Traffic Stop at 205 Henry St. The suspect in the vehicle was identified as Taylor at this point. After multiple attempts to call him out of the vehicle failed, officials say a vehicle assault was conducted. Taylor was arrested and transported to the Alvin S Glenn Detention Center. He is charged with two counts of attempted murder, failure to stop for blue lights and siren, and traffic violations.
