Ripley’s offers discount tickets in food drive
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) — Five cans of food and $5 will get visitors into Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Museum or aquarium in Myrtle Beach.
Ripley Entertainment Inc. is launching its “Gimme Five” food drive on Sunday in all cities with a Believe It or Not! Museum. It ends Thursday.
The company says guests who donate five non-perishable food items can buy a ticket for $5. The regular adult ticket price for the Myrtle Beach museum is $15, and a ticket to the aquarium usually costs $22.
Ripley Entertainment president Jim Pattison Jr. says the number of families needing help putting food on the table is unbelievable.
All the food will go to the Lowcountry Food Bank, which expects to distribute more than 4 million pounds of food this year across 10 coastal counties.
