Lexington County sheriff holding career seminar

LEXINGTON, S.C. (AP) — People interested in working with the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department are getting a chance to learn more about possible job opportunities.
A career seminar is going on Tuesday morning in the department’s training center in Lexington.
Sheriff Jay Koon says the event is intended for people looking to start a career in corrections and law enforcement. Potential applicants will have a chance to talk to officials, tour the jail and ask questions of correctional officers and patrol deputies.
Applicants for both types of positions must be at least 21 years old and have a high school diploma or have successfully completed the GED examination.
