SC lawmakers react to President Trump and first lady testing positive for COVID-19

SOUTH CAROLINA (WOLO) – Many South Carolina lawmakers and leaders are reacting to President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump testing positive for COVID-19.

South Carolina Senator Tim Scott tweeted that he is praying for a speedy recovery for the first couple.

Former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley also tweeted well wishes for the president, first lady and for Hope Hicks, who tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday.

House Majority Whip Representative Jim Clyburn says he wishes them a speedy and complete recovery from this virus.

U.S. Representative Joe Wilson says his prayers are with the president and first lady, and he wishes them a safe, speedy recovery.

U.S. Senate candidate Jaime Harrison tweets his wishes for a quick and full recovery for the president and first lady.

South Carolina Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette says she is praying for a speedy recovery and continued health for the first family.

Columbia Mayor Steve Benjamin tweets his hope for the recovery of President Trump and the first lady, as well as all those affected by the coronavirus.

South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster says he and his wife are praying for the president and first lady to have a full recovery.

U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham tweeted his well wishes while mentioning that the president is in good spirits. Graham went on to say he is “disgusted” by those wishing ill on the president and first lady.
