Gamecock 2012 Baseball Schedule Announced

Columbia, S.C. (USC Athletics) — The South Carolina baseball team has announced its schedule for the 2012 season featuring 24 games against 2011 NCAA Tournament teams as well as 35 home games at Carolina Stadium. The back-to-back national champions open the season on Friday, February 17 hosting a three-game series vs. VMI. The schedule also includes 30 Southeastern Conference contests and a three-game series with in-state rival Clemson. South Carolina and Clemson will meet for a third consecutive year in a unique three-game setting. The series opens on Friday, March 2 at 6 p.m. with Carolina and Clemson playing its neutral site game at Joe Riley Park in Charleston, S.C., home of the Charleston Riverdogs, a minor league affiliate of the New York Yankees. Game two of the series on Saturday, March 3 shifts to Columbia, as the Gamecocks will host the Tigers at 2 p.m. at Carolina Stadium.
