Using Techonolgy to Identify Two Cold Cases

(WOLO) Columbia, SC. The Richland county coroner’s office is asking the public for help in solving two cold cases. Authorities say one of the men was discovered back in April of this year near Farrow Road, The second in September of 2005 in a wooded area not far from the Blossom Street bridge. Richland County Coroner Gary Watts tells us both men were in such advanced stages of decomposition it was hard to tell if there were any signs of trauma. Right now they’re not ruling anything out and are investigating the cold cases as suspicious. Authorities are now trying a form of technology that may help bring forth some leads that will identify the two John Doe’s. By using 3-dimensional facial recognition, authorities have been able to reconstruct the faces of both men using their skulls to create a likeness that someone may recognize. If you know who these men are or if they look familiar to you, The Richland County Coroner’s office would like to hear from you. You can contact them by calling 803-576-1799.
