CPD: Man charged with attempted murder after Friday shooting at Finlay Park

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– The Columbia Police Department says they arrested a man in connection with a shooting that took place Friday at Finlay Park. Police say Abdue Castleberry faces charges of attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Castleberry is accused of shooting another man after an argument. Officials say the victim is recovering at a local hospital. Police say they detained Castleberry near the scene, shortly after the shooting. Authorities say Castleberry is being held at Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.

Police say Castleberry has also been charged with distribution of crack cocaine, stemming from a February 2020 incident.
