One driver killed in a collision on Beckwood Road in Sumter

SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol says one driver has died after a collision on Wednesday.

Troopers say it happened on Beckwood Road around 1:20 a.m.

According to investigators, the driver of a 2006 Toyota Scion went off the left side of the rad and hit a ditch.

Authorities say the driver wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and died on scene.

The Sumter County Coroner’s Office is working to identify the victim.
