SC First Steps 4K scholarships for parents with young kids

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – One organization is offering scholarship opportunities for parents with young children.

SC First Steps says parents can apply for its 4K + Siblings scholarships.

Curtis spoke with Georgia Mjartan, Executive Director of SC First Steps, about how siblings of four-year-olds enrolled in the First Steps 4K program, can now qualify for child care and after-school scholarships for up to 52 weeks.

The scholarships are in partnership with the SC Department of Social Services.

Officials say First Steps 4K offers free four-year-old kindergarten to kids who qualify for the program in South Carolina.
