CPD: Man arrested in connection with burglary and sexual assault investigation
COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– The Columbia Police Department says a man has been arrested in connection with an investigation into a burglary and sexual assault that occurred on Crossbow Drive last month. Police say 30-year-old Tamar Nance has been charged with criminal sexual conduct, first degree burglary, kidnapping and financial transaction card theft.
After 5 a.m. on June 23, investigators say Nance is accused of breaking into the elderly woman’s home on Crossbow Drive, holding her against her will and sexually assaulting her. Additionally, authorities say he is accused of stealing the woman’s credit card.
Officials say the victim was taken to a hospital for medical treatment.
According to investigators, Nance was connected to the crime through DNA evidence.
