Ellington’s Double-Duty Schedule Set

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — South Carolina’s two-sport star Bruce Ellington will miss one more basketball game to join the football team at the Capital One Bowl. The school said Friday at Ellington would not play Dec. 31 when the basketball team takes on USC Upstate at Colonial Life Arena. He will be back on the court January 3rd when the Gamecocks take on South Carolina State. The point guard missed the season’s first six games as he finished his time with the 10th-ranked football team. Ellington played receiver for the Gamecocks, who take on Nebraska in Orlando, Fla., on January 2nd. He will leave for Florida after playing basketball against Wofford on December 28th.
