USC To Start CWS 7 p.m. Sunday

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — The first pitch time has been set for South Carolina’s first game in the Gamecocks’ quest to defend their College World Series title this year. South Carolina is set to face off at 7 p.m. June 19 against Texas A&M. The Aggies advanced to the CWS by knocking off #5 national seed Florida St. 11-2 in Tallahassee Monday night. The Gamecocks secured a bid to defend their title with an 8-2 victory over Connecticut on Sunday night, sweeping that series in two games. Eight teams play in the College World Series, with games beginning Saturday at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Neb. The final two teams compete for the championship in a best-of-three series that begins June 27.
