COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) — Steve Spurrier spoke about the Rock Hill party flier situation on his radio show Thursday night. Spurrier said his players, C.C. Whitlock and Jadeveon Clowney, were unaware the flier existed. The flier was published last week for a Christmas Eve event at a nightclub called Club Cascade in the Rock Hill area. The party promoter told the Sports Talk Radio Network last week that Clowney and Whitlock had knowledge and gave permission to the club to use their name and images. If that is true, this could turn into a potential NCAA violation. The compliance office at South Carolina has not made a formal announcement concerning the matter. Spurrier gave indication the situation is not a big deal and expects Whitlock and Clowney to play in the Capital One Bowl on Monday against Nebraska.
