Lyman Man Gets 25 Years in Fatal Motorcycle Wreck

GREER, S.C. (AP) _ A Lyman man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for his role in an alcohol-related crash that killed two people on a motorcycle and injured a third. Solicitor Barry Barnette says 40-year-old Kevin Casey was sentenced Tuesday after pleading guilty to two counts of felony driving under the influence with a death and felony driving under the influence with great bodily injury. Casey was arrested after the October 2011 wreck in Greer. Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. Bill Rhyne says Casey’s car was going 91 mph when it hit the back of a three-seat motorcycle, killing 20-year-old Steven Ray Mills and 17-year-old Megan Celeste Warren. The motorcycle driver was injured. Casey’s blood-alcohol level was .21. The prosecutor says Casey’s criminal record included two convictions for driving under the influence.
