Consumer News: SC sees strong tourism rebound in 2021, Ways to save on your Super Bowl food spread

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)– Tourism in the Palmetto State saw a strong rebound in 2021. After seeing a slow start to the year, the State Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism says June saw key tourism metrics like hotel occupancy and revenue beginning to surpass the record levels perviously seen in 2019. The year finished with a 33% increase in statewide hotel occupancy compared to 2020. Hotel revenue per available room was also 75% higher than 2020. Statistics show that South Carolina recovered faster than neighboring states in the first six months of 2021.
