State Surplus

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) The state of South Carolina has a lot of stuff it’s not using. And it’s ready to sell. The Post and Courier of Charleston reported (http://bit.ly/zLbY7A ) there are more than 40 surplus properties listed for sale at the Budget and Control Board’s Division of General Services website, (www.gs.sc.gov/sb-ps/RPS-surplus.phtm). The properties range from a ranch style brick home in Greenville to an eight-story dormitory in Greenwood. The transportation department has a lot of the surplus property, including a house in Mount Pleasant, the agency’s former fleet maintenance facility in Mount Pleasant and a home in Florence. There are parcels of land, ranging from a tiny $800 tract in Greenville County and 23 acres in Spartanburg County. There’s even an old dock and warehouse on Sullivan’s Island.
