Special needs bus wreck in Oconee hurts 2

SENECA, S.C. (AP) — Two people have been taken to a hospital after a school bus carrying special needs students turned on its die in Oconee County.

Assistant school superintendent Michael Thorsland says the bus driver was carrying seven students and an assistant for students with special needs when the bus ran off the road, hit a ditch and turned on its side about 7 a.m. Friday.

The bus driver and one student were taken to Oconee Medical Center to be checked.

Thorsland says none of the students or the assistant suffered serious injuries.

Most of the students were taken to school on another bus, though a father picked up two children.
