City Requests Voluntary Water Conservation

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — As the City works to stabilize water levels at the Columbia Canal, City officials are asking citizens to minimize water usage until further notice. By conserving water, residents will assist the City in protecting one of the region‘s main water sources while repairs are being completed, officials say. The system-wide boil water advisory is still in effect for all water customers. The City estimates that there are currently less than 10,000 customers without water service. Official say this is a substantial decrease from yesterday‘s estimate of 42,000 customers.
