Man, 32, gets life in prison in Sumter nightclub killing

SUMTER, S.C. (AP) — A 32-year-old man will spend the rest of his life in prison after a Sumter County jury found him guilty of murder in a nightclub shooting last year.

Rodney Rodriuguz Green killed 33-year-old Tyrus Archie with a gunshot to the chest outside Club Miami in Sumter in March 2014.

Green was also found guilty Friday of attempted murder for shooting a second man in the leg.

The shootings and other earlier crimes at the club led Sumter County Sheriff Anthony Dennis to successfully work to get Club Miami closed.
