Man killed in officer-involved shooting identified

LEXINGTON, S.C. (WOLO) — Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has released the identity of the suspect who was shot and killed during an officer-involved shooting early Tuesday morning. Fisher said 21-year-old Demetrius Bryant of Columbia was fatally wounded during the shooting incident which involved two Cayce police officers. Fisher says one officer was also shot in the incident and was treated for non-life threatening injuries. The incident occurred in the 1900 block of Lorick Street in Cayce, Bryant suffered two gunshot wounds to the upper body and died at the scene from his injuries Fisher said. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division and the Lexington County Coroner‘s Office are still investigating.
