2 charged with obstruction in slayings of 4 people

ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) — Two people have been charged with obstruction of justice in an Orangeburg County shooting in which four people were killed and a small child critically injured last summer.

The Times and Democrat reports (http://bit.ly/1MX9KjA ) that 26-year-old Dominique Washington of Ladson was arrested Wednesday. He was denied bond and it wasn’t immediately known if he had an attorney.

A second person was also charged but the newspaper said the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office asked it not to release the name of the person because of concerns about safety. Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said the name would be released later.

Two adults and two teenagers were killed and an 8-year-old boy critically wounded in the July 15 shootings outside Holly Hill.

No one has been charged with the slayings.
