Potential New Storm in the Tropics

A large area just to the north of South America (in red) is favorable for the development of a tropical storm of hurricane over the next 5 days.  If this were to happen, it’s likely that the storm would develop into a more powerful hurricane, that then could impact the Gulf of Mexico.  Stay tuned.
