Boston is the first First-Team Academic All-American in Gamecock women’s basketball history and the program’s third selection all-time (Martha Parker, 1989 third team; Tiffany Mitchell, 2016 second team).
The championship match will be an all-SEC affair as Florida’s Sam Riffice advanced out of the other semifinal match.
The Gamecocks will host Eastern Illinois University at 7 pm ET on Saturday, Sept. 4, to kick off the 2021 season.
Rodrigues is the second Gamecock to advance to the semifinals in the last two NCAA Singles Championships. On Thursday, he will face No. 21 Adrian Boitan of Baylor for a chance to advance to the title match Friday.
Carolina will now turn its attention to the 2021 SEC Tournament at the Hoover Met in Hoover, Ala. as the seventh seed.
Brett Kerry was solid on the mound in his second start of the season. He pitched seven innings, allowing seven hits and two runs with eight strikeouts and no walks.
Wes Clarke belted his 20th home run of the season and the University of South Carolina baseball team’s pitching staff combined for a three-hit shutout as the Gamecocks defeated Appalachian State, 2-0.
Andrew Eyster had four hits and drove in four runs in the win. George Callil had two hits and scored three runs while Brady Allen, Josiah Sightler and Wes Clarke each drove in a pair.
Brett Kerry only needed 94 pitches to earn his fourth win of the season. It also was his first start of 2021.
Next up, Carolina heads to Clemson to wrap-up a series that started in February.
