Monday morning, the SC Department of Education and the SC Education Oversight Committee released South Carolina’s 2025 School Report Cards — which showed significant improvements in a handful of indicators across the state.
Deputies were dispatched around 10:34 p.m. to reports of a shooting at a mobile home park in the 4400 block of Broad Street.
Around 1:15 a.m., deputies say they responded to the 600 block of Camp Ground Rd in reference to a shooting.
The shooting occurred at a bonfire being held where witnesses estimate over 500 people were in attendance.

“We need to show that we are not Washington, D.C. That we are down to do the work of the people, and if that means coming into session to figure it out, then we as a body, the Democrats are willing to do that, we’d ask Republicans to do the same,” says SC House Minority Leader Todd Rutherford.
It’s known as the “One SC Fund” — administered by the Central Carolina Community Foundation out of Columbia.
“With SNAP benefits running out, the lines are really long as you can see, people are already getting a sense of panic. And many state agencies are directing people to local food banks like Harvest Hope,” Rowe says, adding, “The need is great. But we cannot step into the place of SNAP. It’s $100 million a month.”
