“It’s as different as daylight and darkness. Liberalism or illiberalism. Rights being regressed or a world that can be transformed. Fighting for the future or putting America in reverse,” says California Governor Gavin Newsom.
“They screen patients who are uninsured or underinsured, and with an additional million dollars, they could screen more patients. So right now the screening that they have, they run out of screening every year. They have patients calling into their office saying hey can I get a screening and they have to tell them no I’m sorry we don’t have any funds to screen you,” Johnson says.
“If she wins, this is huge. Even if she loses but comes within five or six points, that’s still huge. That carries her at least to South Carolina, probably to Super Tuesday. And that’s what she’s hoping for. Even if she’s limping, if she can limp into Super Tuesday, that might be enough to jump start things, but she has to have a strong showing tonight,” he says.
“We’re excited for the medical community to provide emergency services, not only to the jockeys, with physicians on staff, to care for anything that may come up but also to the patrons that attend the races every year. So, MUSC is excited to be apart of this event and thankful for the opportunity,” says Holmstrom.
“It’s a good investment for the state because the more you invest in juvenile justice and in preventative services, the less you have to spend on the long end,” says Hendrick.
“There are streams on the site, so those needed to be mitigated, and the way we do that, is we purchase or secure mitigation properties in other parts of the counties or area, and that is a tradeoff for any of those wetlands or streams that will be impacted on site,” Ruble says.
“Really, we just want these victims to understand that they are not alone. We know that this can be very frightening, this can be embarrassing. And in some cases they think that they are going to get in trouble with law enforcement and we want them to know that that’s not the case,” says Wheeler.
“This is not the trial of Ms. Hill. And issues about motives and so forth and the possible commission of crimes are not what this inquiry is about. It is about her contact if any with the juror, and what she said,” says Judge Jean Toal.
“Dr. King said to us, every person in this room has the capacity to be great, all you have to do is have the willingness and the compassion to serve,” says Donaldson.
Thousands are expected to attend the event which will begin with a service at Zion Baptist Church in downtown Columbia, followed by a march to the State House for a 10 a.m. rally featuring an address from Vice President Kamala Harris.
