SC National Guard Members Readying for Deployment to Afghanistan

Greenville, SC (AP) Some of South Carolina’s bravest are getting ready for deployment. Sixty members of the South Carolina National Guard will deploy to Afghanistan. They’ll head to Texas Thursday for training for one month. The guard members are part of the 238-th Aviation Unit which includes pilots for six helicopters. They’ll leave for Afghanistan next month. According to financial services company, Fidelity, couples retiring this year will need roughly $275,000 saved up to cover their health care costs. That’s up six percent from last year.
