Clemson Football Earns APR Kudos Again

The Clemson football program was honored Wednesday when the NCAA released its Academic Performance Public Recognition Awards. Dabo Swinney’s Tigers rank among the top 10 percent of all FBS programs nationally in APR score (Academic Progress Rate), the fifth-consecutive year the program has had a top 10 percent ranking. Clemson’s women’s golf and diving programs joined football this year among the top 10 percent of their sports.

Clemson Sweeps No. 8 FSU, Makes History in Process

Reed Rohlman tied a school record with three doubles and Jake Long tossed 6.0 strong inning to lead Clemson to a 9-6 victory over No. 8 Florida State at Dick Howser Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers, who swept the three-game series by a combined score of 20-7, improved to 31-25 overall and 16-13 in the ACC. The Seminoles fell to 37-19 overall and 17-13 in ACC play.

Clemson Advances to NCAA Championship

North Carolina native Miller Capps fired a three-under-par 69 on Saturday to lead Clemson to a fifth-place finish at the NCAA Chapel Hill Regional at the Finley Golf Course on the University of North Carolina Campus. With the top five finish in the 13-team regional, Clemson advances to the NCAA Championship Tournament in Bradenton, Fla on May 29.

Clemson Downs No. 8 FSU, 7-0

Zack Erwin pitched 6.0 scoreless innings of three-hit ball in Clemson’s 7-0 victory over No. 8 Florida State at Dick Howser Stadium on Friday night. The Tigers, who took a 2-0 lead in the series, improved to 30-25 overall and 15-13 in the ACC. The Seminoles dropped to 37-18 overall and 17-12 in ACC play.
