USC Takes Out Texas A&M 6-3

Senior catcher Olivia Lawrence tied it in the sixth with a solo home run, and sophomore right fielder Victoria Williams handed the Gamecocks (37-19) the finishing blow in a 6-3 victory over No. 22/25 Texas A&M on Wednesday afternoon in the first round of the SEC Softball Tournament at Tiger Park.

Different Paths, Same Success for USC Golf Teams

USC Trio To Try Out For Team USA

University of South Carolina women’s basketball will send three student-athletes to trials for three different teams in May, USA Basketball announced today. Junior Tiffany Mitchell and sophomore Alaina Coates will vie for a spots on the 2015 U.S. Pan American Women’s Basketball Team and the 2015 USA Women’s World University Games Team. Freshman A’ja Wilson will compete for a place on the 2015 USA Basketball Women’s U19 World Championship Team. Both trials will be held May 14-17 at the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Gamecocks Host Wofford

South Carolina (27-21) hosts Wofford (33-16) on Wednesday night at Carolina Stadium with first pitch set for 7 p.m. The Gamecocks are looking to avoid losing to a sixth different team from the state of South Carolina this season. The Terriers are coming off a Tuesday night 17-9 home win against Clemson.

Terriers Top Tigers 17-9

Wofford broke a 9-9 tie with four runs in the seventh inning in its 17-9 victory over Clemson at Russell C. King Field on Tuesday night. The Terriers, who split the home-and-home season series and snapped Clemson’s 15-game winning streak in the series, improved to 33-16. The Tigers fell to 24-24. It was the first meeting between the two at Wofford since 2004.
