Littlejohn Renovation Clears Final Hurdle

Clemson Athletics received final approval Wednesday from the South Carolina Budget and Control Board to begin renovation of Littlejohn Coliseum. The Board approved the construction project and issuance of bonds for the project, which is slated to cost $63.5 million to be financed completely by the athletic department and IPTAY. The project previously received approval from the Clemson Board of Trustees and the Joint Bond Review Committee.

Staley 1 Of 4 Naismith Coach Of Year Finalists

After earning a second-consecutive SEC regular-season championship and capturing the program’s first SEC Tournament crown, South Carolina head coach Dawn Staley is one of four finalists for the Naismith Women’s College Coach of the Year award, the Atlanta Tipoff Club announced today. Staley was a finalist for the award last year as well, earning distinction as the first Gamecock coach to be a finalist for a national coach of the year award.

Winthrop Wins 7-5, Snaps USC Win Streak

Fifth-ranked South Carolina’s 11th inning rally fell short as Winthrop defeated the Gamecocks 7-5 on Tuesday night at Carolina Stadium to snap Carolina’s 10-game winning streak. The loss drops the Gamecocks to 17-4 on the year while the Eagles improve to 14-5.

Coastal Beats Clemson 9-5

CONWAY, S.C. – David Parrett’s grand slam highlighted Coastal Carolina’s five-run third inning in its 9-5 victory over Clemson in front of a stadium-record crowd of 2,825 at Springs Brooks Stadium on Tuesday night. The Chanticleers improved to 14-6, while the Tigers dropped to 9-10. It was Clemson’s first game in Conway since 1994.
