Dutch Fork Headed To 3rd Straight State Title Game

Dutch Fork High School is headed back to its third straight class AAAA state championship football game. The Silver Foxes earned a chance to defend their state title with a dominating 41-6 win over Byrnes Friday night in the AAAA division I semifinals.

Matt Colburn and Steven Davis combined to ground and pound the football on offense while the Silver Fox defense limited normally high-scoring Byrnes to next-to-nothing en route to a 28-0 halftime lead.

A.C. Flora’s class AAA run came up one game short of the championship game. The Falcons lost 40-21 to South Pointe at Memorial Stadium.

Newberry and Keenan finished as state runner-ups in their respective divisions.

USC Women Win Junkanoo Jam

#1-ranked USC came back from down 12 to beat Syracuse 67-63 Friday night to win the Lucaya division of the Junkanoo Jam in the Bahamas.

Freshman A’ja Wilson earned tournament division MVP honors.

USC NCAA Soccer Run Ended By FSU

In the program’s first NCAA quarterfinal, No. 18 South Carolina (14-6-5) saw its NCAA Tournament run come to an end with a 5-0 loss to No. 2 Florida State (22-1-1) on Friday at the Seminole Soccer Complex

Clemson Edges High Point 62-59

A Clemson men’s basketball game was decided by three points again Friday. For the second straight time, the Tigers escaped with a victory. Clemson held off High Point in a 62-59 triumph in Littlejohn Coliseum to move to 4-2 on the young season. The Panthers fell to 4-2 overall.
