Game Time Set For Gamecocks & Gators

The University of South Carolina football team will take on the Florida Gators in a noon ET kickoff on Saturday, November 15, it was announced today. The SEC Network will televise the game nationally from Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville, Fla.

USC Women Set Season Opener Game Time

South Carolina women’s basketball head coach Dawn Staley announced today the start time for her team’s season opener against Southern Cal. The Gamecocks and Trojans are set to open the season on Sat., Nov. 15, at 7 p.m. at Colonial Life Arena in a game to be broadcast by SEC Network +, only on WatchESPN through participating TV providers. The two teams had held off announcing the start time until the kickoff time for the Gamecocks’ football game at Florida had been released (Noon, SEC Network).

PC Headed To Ole Miss

The Presbyterian College football team (5-4, 2-2 Big South) will play its third and final game against a Football Bowl Subdivision opponent on Saturday with a noon Eastern matchup against Ole Miss (7-2, 2-2 SEC) on the SEC Network. The Blue Hose saw their two game-win streak snapped on Saturday with a home 28-7 Senior Day loss to Liberty to end the home slate with a 4-2 record at Bailey Memorial Stadium. They will face a determined Ole Miss Rebels squad who rose to the upper echelon of the college football world before heartbreaking close losses to LSU and Auburn.

Beasley Makes Bednarik Award Cut

Clemson defensive end Vic Beasley has been named one of 20 semifinalists for the 2014 Bednarik Award. The award is presented each year by the Maxwell Football Club of Philadelphia to the top defensive player in the nation. It is named in honor of former NFL Hall of Famer Chuck Bednarik.

USC Women Crush Coker 100-25 In Exhibition

No. 2 South Carolina scored early and often in a 100-25 win over Coker College in the Gamecocks’ lone exhibition contest of the season Sunday afternoon at Colonial Life Arena. Freshman A’ja Wilson led all scorers with 18 points while also collecting a game-high 10 rebounds.

USC Women Earn All-SEC Honors

After leading the Gamecocks with 15 points in the regular season, forward Savannah McCaskill was named SEC Freshman of the Year, the league office announced today. Seniors Sabrina D’Angelo and Taylor Leach were selected to the All-SEC First Team while McCaskill also earned a spot on the All-SEC Second Team and was named to the All-Freshman team.
