South Carolina won two of three games at Auburn last week. The Gamecocks are now 30-10 and 10-8 in the SEC. Carolina sits at second place in the SEC Eastern Division and in a tie for fourth place overall with four conference weekends left to play.

USC Takes Series Over Auburn

Gene Cone’s one-out sacrifice fly in the eighth inning broke a 3-3 tie and junior right-hander Joel Seddon pitched 2.1 scoreless innings of relief to earn his second win of the season as sixth ranked South Carolina defeated Auburn 4-3 to win the rubber game of a three-game SEC series at Plainsman Park.

Clemson Takes Series Over Pittsburgh

Junior righthander Daniel Gossett tossed a three-hit shutout in No. 20 Clemson’s 3-0 win over Pittsburgh at Charles L. Cost Field on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers (24-14, 12-7 ACC) took a 2-0 lead in the series against the Panthers (16-22, 8-12 ACC).

Gamecocks On Five Game Losing Streak

Junior left-hander Jordan Montgomery hurled a four-hit complete game for the Gamecocks but a four-run first inning that included a three-run homer from Blake Austin lifted Auburn to a 4-2 win over sixth ranked South Carolina in the series opener on Saturday afternoon at Plainsman Park.
