The University of South Carolina football team held its first official scrimmage of the spring on Saturday morning at Williams-Brice Stadium.
Second-ranked South Carolina and 20th ranked Tennessee’s baseball game was halted in the top of the 12th inning with the score tied at 2-2 due to rain in Columbia, S.C. The game will resume on Saturday at 4 p.m. with Saturday’s originally scheduled contest to follow the conclusion of the first game.

The Boston Red Sox announced Friday former Gamecock Jackie Bradley Jr. will start out the season in AAA Pawtucket. Grady Sizemore won the Red Sox starting job in center field. Bradley hit .158 and led the Red Sox in strikeouts this spring.

Due to impending inclement weather, Maryland and Clemson are now scheduled to play a doubleheader Friday beginning at 3 p.m. Game two of the doubleheader and series is slated to begin approximately 30 minutes following the conclusion of the first game. Saturday’s game is still scheduled to start at 2 p.m. and serve as the series finale.
