Gamecocks try to get back on track in NC

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO)–The South Carolina Gamecock baseball team will try to ger back on track and aim for Omaha Sunday in Game 2 of the super regional. USC Coach Chad Holbrook will lead the team 1pm Sunday, in game Two in Chapel Hill. No. 1 seed North Carolina beat the Gamecocks 6-5 in game one Saturday. Categories: Sports

Rollins Breaks Own Record, Wins National Title

Clemson redshirt junior Brianna Rollins dazzled the Historic Hayward Field crowd for a second time this week as she ran to another collegiate record in the 100 hurdles on Saturday at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. She blew away the field to a time of 12.39, one of the top times in history by an American athlete, to lead Clemson’s women to a ninth-place team finish. It was the program’s third straight top-10 finish at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Dantzler, Westmoreland & Celek Drafted

South Carolina senior first baseman LB Dantzler, senior left-handed pitcher Adam Westmoreland and junior first baseman Brison Celek were selected on day three of the 2013 MLB Draft. Dantzler was taken in the 14th round by the Toronto Blue Jays with Westmoreland a 26th round pick by the Miami Marlins and Celek a 31st round choice by the Blue Jays.

UNC Walks Off With Super Regional Opener

Skye Bolt’s two-out RBI single scored Parks Jordan with the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning, as North Carolina outlasted South Carolina, 6-5, in game one of the best-of-3 Super Regional Saturday afternoon at Boshamer Stadium.
