Frazier To Start At QB For Auburn

Nine days before the season opener against Clemson, the Auburn Tigers finally have a starting quarterback. Thursday afternoon, Auburn Head Football Coach Gene Chizik named sophomore Kiehl Frazier the starter. Frazier beat out junior Clint Moseley.

Tennessee WR Rogers Suspended Indefinitely

Tennessee has indefinitely suspended star wide receiver Da’Rick Rogers for an unspecified violation of team rules. ESPN is reporting Rogers violated the school’s substance abuse policy and Tennessee Head Football Coach Derek Dooley doesn’t expect the All-SEC receiver to play in 2012.

Medlen Helps Braves Avoid D.C. Sweep

Kris Medlen pitched seven shutout innings in his latest winning performance and Martin Prado’s two-run double proved decisive to help the Braves end a four-game losing streak with a 5-1 victory over the Washington Nationals on Wednesday night.

Saban Responds To Spurrier Slight

Steve Spurrier has spiced up most of the offseason with a few comments that reflected some of the SEC swagger we saw when he was Florida’s Ol’ Ball Coach. Nick Saban has been listening, and a little more than a week before the 2012 season kicks off, the Alabama coach responded to Spurrier’s spring slight.

Rosenblatt Stadium Razed

The last recognizable piece of college baseball’s famous stadium is no longer. Wednesday morning, the Rosenblatt Stadium press box in Omaha, Nebraska was blown up. USC won the last College World Series at the 64-year-old stadium in 2010.
